Abstract
WE have recently devised a method for measuring the adhesion of organic coatings to metal surfaces, which, unlike many others1,2, enables the adhesion to be distinguished from the mechanical properties of the coatings and also, since it does not need to be operated in a vacuum as do some methods3,4, may be used to study the effects of various atmospheric and other conditions on adhesion.
