Abstract
SHARMAN1 has established that normal gestation time for the Rottnest Island quokka (Setonix brachyurus) is twenty-seven days. He has further shown that, in delayed birth in this species, the unilaminar blastocyst stage at which development is arrested occurs about three days after copulation. It is of interest to assess the time necessary from resumption of development of the blastocyst to parturition after the impetus to growth, that is, removal of the initial joey, is applied.
