Abstract
UK 7861 (5-(N-piperidino)-10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo (a.d.)-cycloheptene (Dr J. Morrison, Pfizer Ltd.)) is a compound whose acute oral LD50 has been reported to be 6.6 mg kg−1 in male albino rats and 1,160 mg in male albino mice2. These data suggested that UK 786 might be a highly specific toxicant for rats, and we conducted the following series of tests with thirteen species of birds and mammals to investigate this.
