Abstract
α-BuNGAROTOXIN (α-BTX), a neurotoxin obtained from the venom of the snake Bungarus multicinctus, blocks neuromuscular transmission by combining irreversibly with the acetylcholine (ACh) receptors located in the postsynaptic membrane1–4. The results reported here show that α-BTX also causes an increase in the amount of ACh collected after nerve stimulation.
