Abstract
Kunitz and Northrop1 found the isoelectric point of crystalline chymotrypsinogen to be near pH 5 by their method of microcataphoresis2. Recently, Anderson and Alberty3 and Laskowski4, using electrophoretic mobilities, gave values of pH 9.5 and 9.1 respectively. As it is now possible to crystallize chymotrypsinogen salt free from aqueous alcohol5, it was thought worth while to attempt to determine the isoelectric point of such a preparation by a method based on the Donnan equilibrium.
