Inositol Concentration in the Cerebrospinal and Ocular Fluids and Tissues of the Fœtal and Adult Sheep

Abstract

IN the adult ewe the concentrations of free mesoinositol in the cerebrospinal fluid and aqueous humour are similar and exceed several-fold the concentration present in the plasma of the same animal1. It was of interest to examine this relationship in the fœtus since characteristically the concentration of inositol in fœtal plasma is greater than in that of the mother2.
