‘Rebound Effect’ of Ovulation-inhibiting Steroid in Rats

Abstract

WHILE interpreting the results of studies in women and the dual role of ‘Norethynodrel’, Rock describes it as ‘rebound effect’ possibly on the pituitary gland1. It has been shown that syntheses of gonadotrophins are affected by administration of ‘Norethynodrel’2,3. Our recent experiments on this rebound effect phenomenon and the results obtained have brought forth some new thoughts on the role of anterior pituitary gland in gonadotrophic hormone elaboration.
