Effect of X-irradiation on the Synthesis and Composition of Pulse-labelled RNA of the Liver of the Rat Foetus

Abstract

WE have shown, in unpublished work, that when rat embryos are irradiated on the ninth day of embryonic development, or during early organogenesis1, the growth rate of the liver decreased between the fifteenth and twenty-first days of embryogenesis. The slower growth of liver at this stage of development is followed by a decrease of nucleic acids and protein contents.
