Reconstitution of Alanine Acceptor Activity from Fragments of Yeast tRNAAlaII

Abstract

Fragments of the stem of yeast tRNAAlaII are by themselves able to load alanine. The loading is specific for alanine, and the results imply that the aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase recognition site may be in the tRNA stem region.
