Adenosine functionalized PLA nanoparticles regulate expression of inflammatory mediators and markers. Chondrocytes were incubated with IL-1b, nanoparticles and adenosine A2A receptor antagonists (ZM241385 and SCH58261) or an A2B antagonist (PSB1115), as described. RNA was isolated and subject to reverse transcription and real time-PCR, as described and levels of specific mRNA were calculated and normalized to LDH.
