Error rates for non-right-handed and right-handed participants in detecting tones presented to the left or right, under conditions of relatively high or low alertness, whether alertness is defined using EEG (top) or behaviourally from reaction times (bottom).

Non-right-handers show no hint of the marked increased tendency of right-handers to report left tones as right when drowsy.
