Abstract
THE dipole moments1 and the Raman spectra2 indicate that the isothiocyanate group, — N = C = S, is linear. The isocyanates are now found to resemble the isothiocyanates. The Raman spectra indicate that the group — N = C = O in the isocyanic esters is linear3, and this conclusion agrees with inferences drawn from the dipole moments.
