A PHOTOMETRIC method for chicken liver xanthine dehydrogenase based on the colorimetric determination of substrate disappearance1 has been developed. It has been demonstrated to be very sensitive by comparative measurements of liver xanthine dehydrogenase using the manometric technique2 during protein depletion and repletion.
