Abstract
IN previous work with transplantable neoplasms in mice1, we found that the quantity of Hale substance observed in the intercellular spaces within the primary tumour correlates with metastasis. That is, the greater the amount of Hale material, the fewer the metastases. Hale substance is thought to be a non-sulphated acid mucopolysaccharide.
